About Shanon Stanfield

Shanon Stanfield is an Austin attorney with more than 16 years of experience taking cases to trial across Texas. She represents both individuals and businesses in state district courts, county courts, justice of the peace courts, and federal trial courts. Her practice, SKS Law, centers on real estate disputes, construction defects, commercial and partnership disputes, and consumer cases.

Stanfield grew up in Southeast Texas, where her mother worked as a paralegal for a plaintiff personal injury attorney. Hearing stories about the firm helping blue collar workers and their families left a mark. That early exposure shaped a career driven by a genuine interest in fighting for people who need an advocate in court.

Over 14 years of practice, Stanfield has handled more than 500 cases resolved at various stages of litigation. Rather than accept that outcome, she regrouped. In the second trial, she put the client on the stand to show the jury a full human being instead of the monster the prosecution described. The jury returned not guilty in one hour. That client later became a software engineer.

That case reinforced something Stanfield carries into every matter: telling a complete story matters. Technical arguments alone can fall short. Helping clients and witnesses connect with real people in the jury box is a skill, and it's one she has spent years refining. She describes her approach as trying to be empathetic and compassionate in a profession that can often feel cold and calculating.
